“I thought I had it,” sings 19 year-old Iceage singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt on “Broken Bone,” the outstanding seventh track off the band’s debut record New Brigade [US – What’s Your Rupture?/UK and Europe – Escho/Tambourhinoceros, 2011]. “But they told me it was just a broken bone.” The line feels tossed off and yet epic, vulnerable yet dangerous.
