Bill Ward, when he played on that version of War Pigs in Paris 1970... that is the Bill Ward of legend. I love that song and know every single fill. I can never help myself but play every fill on the air drums. Anyone who doesn't recognize this dude's musical genius is a complete idiot. Sure you have plenty of other drummers out there who are more technical, but this dude was just better. I think Geezer is great and Iommi is one of my main influences, but if it wasn't for Ward, the band would be nothing like what it was. Look at the other drummers of that time period, like Vinny Appice or the guy from Deep Purple. I mean they dont come close to the feeling and style of Bill Ward. Im saddened by the tone in interviews I read with Bill. I don't think he has any idea how phenomenal he is, either that or the guy is so humble that he wont admit it. I feel like he is out in the cold and needs some appreciation. Maybe I need to start the Bill Ward Appreciation Society. I certainly would!! I love his vocals on Breaking the Chains too. Actually one of my favorite Sabbath songs.
